“No more shadows, no more bulky lights or mag lamps!”
"OMG! I just received my CraftOptics Telescopes with the DreamBeam and they are fantastic!!! No more shadows, no more bulky lights or mag lamps! They are perfect for working with permanent makeup, extractions during a facial, plus so much more! Thank you so much!!!"
“The light is so bright and free of shadows - I love it.”
Hi - You asked me to let you know what I thought about the DreamBeam light that I purchased when in Tucson. I mentioned that my CraftOptics didn't seem to be working well for me anymore and you said the light would make all the difference. Well.... you were right. At 65 years old the extra light is what I need. I love how it is directed at everything I do so I have plenty of light and am not adjusting my desk lamps all the time. The light is so bright and free of shadows - I love it. Suzy Suzy Williamson Handcrafted Jewelry www.suzywilliamson.com
“I think I said Wow about 10 times because I could not believe how sharply I could see and how natural it felt.”
After contemplating purchasing the CraftOptics magnifying glasses for over a year, I decided it was time due to my aging eyes and purchased the CraftOptics and DreamBeam Light Wow Package. All I can say is they gave it the right name...WOW is so right. I can not tell you the excitement I felt when I took the CraftOptics out of the case, put them on and saw my work for the first time sitting on my bench. I think I said "Wow" about 10 times because I could not believe how sharply I could see and how natural it felt. CraftOptics nailed my prescription on the first try and I am never looking back. Thank you for providing me with such a wonderful tool. I am looking forward to wearing my CraftOptics and the significant improvement in my work they will no doubt make simply being able to see everything I have been missing.
“Wow! I know these are going to save me a lot of headaches and strain in the long run so I'm really glad we took the plunge and made the investment.”

“My new favorite tool.”
From Instagram: With age comes wisdom - & the inability to see small details. To that end I decided to end my frustration & tired eyes and invested in a pair of #craftoptics glasses. I’ve had them for over a month & they are my new favorite “tool”. It took a little time to adjust to working with them. The support during the ordering process was excellent & the tips on how to wear/adjust the glasses were very helpful. @jewelryinstructor your review and live chat with the CraftOptics creator was also very helpful. Now I don’t have to give up on sawing metal, threading needles & making miniatures @mainecoastminis
“Two words....life changing.”
[From Instagram] A little review for my fellow jewellers if anyone is interested I invested in these new magnifiers from craftoptics about 6 weeks ago and thought I would really give them a good go before reviewing them!! Two words…..life changing. I have prescription glasses for close up work and then wore optivisors for closer up work such as setting etc. I was starting to wear them together. But the problem with optivisors is that you have to get close to the work so I felt I was hunching over my peg, which is terrible for my posture/neck/shoulders. And also I couldn’t really use them for things like piercing as the saw frame banged against the optivisors etc. I’d read a lot of positive things about the craftoptics glasses and started saving up. I decided against adding the light as I have good lighting on my bench. The light can be bought and added at any time. And then they arrived and wow, they really are fantastic. The glasses are made to my prescription and then the magnifiers flip down when needed. They take a little getting used to as I’m used to swapping glasses about all the time. These glasses are light enough to wear all the time and when I do flip the magnifiers down, I don’t need to change my position at all. I don’t need to get closer to the work. It’s amazing. I can actually see in detail again. Even when I’m polishing/soldering etc. And my posture has improved. I totally love them. Worth every penny and I wish I’d bought them years ago. So if you’re sitting on the fence, go for it. The people at craftoptics are so friendly and helpful. Ready to answer any questions. Thank you so much! #jeweller #jewellery #handmade #handmadejewellery #glasses #magnifiers #magnifiedglasses #icanseeagain? ( #? @tlkjeweller )
“I so wish I knew about these sooner. It has changed my life. The light is awesome. The whole setup is lightweight - no headaches from those visors I used to use.”
“I'love being able to solder without having my face close to my work. Just what I have been looking for.”
“I can easily see when a sea in a bezel setting has a little gap and [it] helps immensely tweezering teeny chips of solder!”
“My CraftOptics have increased my productivity tenfold and eliminated eye strain and headaches altogether. I can't recommend them enough!”
“I was never able to pick solder before...now I can and I realize it was because I couldn't see the little balls of solder!”
“The magnifying lenses are great. A pleasure to work with. I warmly recommend this product.”
“I truly don’t know if I’d be able to do the fine detail work that’s so important to my jewelry without them.”
I truly don’t know if I’d be able to do the fine detail work that’s so important to my jewelry without them. I do a lot of hand texturing, I cut out tiny shapes and I set very small stones. The precision the glasses provide is exactly what I need because I can see what I’m doing. The DreamBeam light is a big part of that. It’s critical to get bright, pinpoint lighting focused right on what I’m looking at and the DreamBeam makes that easy. Like a lot of other CraftOptics users, I had some initial sticker shock. But it was helpful that I could read testimonials and even email people to ask about their experience. Your eyesight is worth the investment and my CraftOptics have easily paid for themselves. Plus, I like the fact that when your vision changes, it’s easy and affordable to get the prescription updated (just $97, which includes return shipping). I’ll be able to use these as long as I continue to do metalworking.
“I just received my new CraftOptics eyeglasses. I'm not one to rave about product but these magnifiers are a game changer.”
“I am blown away with how clear everything is on my bench now that I am wearing the glasses. I had not realized how badly I was seeing before I put the CraftOptics glasses on.”
Hi Jeff and Lynn,I just wanted to say a huge thank you. My CraftOptics Wow package arrived last Friday and I am blown away with how clear everything is on my bench now that I am wearing the glasses. I had not realized how badly I was seeing before I put the CraftOptics glasses on - it has revolutionized my piercing saw work - as I can now actually see the line to saw it!I have tried surgeons’ loupes/ magnifying visors and also glasses and for me your product is not only the clearest it is also the most comfortable.A personal thanks to you both for your excellent service throughout the process. Your responsiveness (particularly given that I am in the UK) and personal service is something that a lot of businesses could learn from. Many thanks and best wishes,Fran
“I am saving far more in silver by less errors because I see better, and vision is priceless. Protect yours. Buy these and they will make you smile.”
“The clarity is unreal.”
My whole work life has changed. I've tried probably every magnifying option for close up work, and they are all just subpar. It was time for me to find a solution. My work at night was suffering most. No more. The clarity is unreal. Danielle River Valley Designs www.rvdjewelry.com

“I LOVE mine. Never regretted this purchase. Can't bead without them.”
“Bring on the tiny stitches, and maybe I'll even try my hand at adding some beads to my embroidery now!”
“So glad I have the CraftOptics glasses and DreamBeam. Both have made returning to beading much more enjoyable. Thank you-”
“I can do needlepoint and jewelry projects that I haven't been able to do in YEARS.”
“I’ve been able to bead so much better and make more projects than ever before.”
I just wanted to say your company has the best customer service I have ever experienced with any company. I am in love with my CraftOptics glasses and light. I can’t speak nor rave about them enough. When I wear them in bead classes and people ask about them I tell them they will never regret purchasing them and provide the information on how to purchase. I can’t say enough about CraftOptics and tell everyone I know you have to get these glasses as you will never regret it. I’ve been able to bead so much better and make more projects than ever before since I’ve purchased them. Thanks again Doreen Parkansky
“The light makes a HUGE difference in seeing my work so much better!”
"I use them nearly every day to do either cross stitch or jewelry fabrication. While the magnification is great, the light makes a HUGE difference in seeing my work so much better!"
“Having the best tool for the job always pays off!”
Thank you, CraftOptics, for these amazing glasses. I would have never been able to see well enough to sort this mess! Saved several ounces of sterling and niobium! Having the best tool for the job always pays off!

“They are GREAT! I am amazed at how well they fit me and how comfortable they are - no adjustments needed!”
They are GREAT! I am amazed at how well they fit me and how comfortable they are - no adjustments needed! I am a retired small animal veterinary surgeon so working with magnification is pretty “normal” to me, so I really didn’t find I needed a lot of time to learn how to work with them on. The quality is excellent and I love the light!!! So easy to use.
“After trying multiple magnification devices, and being frustrated with the results of each one, and several different pairs of glasses, I was giving up hope that I would ever be able to see the details again, which was just killing me.”
I have to tell you, these are the best things ever!! I was really concerned about getting them; I had cataract surgery 3 years ago and went from being extremely near-sighted to far-sighted, and it has been driving me bonkers trying to find something that would help me see the details that I need to see for my enameling. After trying multiple magnification devices, and being frustrated with the results of each one, and several different pairs of glasses, I was giving up hope that I would ever be able to see the details again, which was just killing me. I talked with my eye doctor, and even he wasn't sure about how these would work. The impetus for finally giving in and getting them was changing jobs and having money in my flex account I didn't want to lose :-) And they are FABULOUS!!! I have my details back, and they don't even have as much depth-of-field limitation as I was afraid they would. Still getting used to sitting at the right distance, but I have that issue with my glasses anyway after years of 'get closer to see better.' I also want to thank you for your company's customer service - it is fabulous! Thanks so much! Karin C.

“I can see my beads which make my beading much easier and makes my Machine embroidery and hand stitching easier as well. The magnification is amazing. I am so glad I got them.”
These glasses are WONDERFUL!!!!!! I love mine. I bought the complete package. Glasses and light and am glad I did. I can see my beads which make my beading much easier and makes my Machine embroidery and hand stitching easier as well. The magnification is amazing. I am so glad I got them. The customer service is by far better than any company I’ve dealt with in a long time.
“I'm so glad I made the choice and gifted myself!”
I LOVE my CraftOptics!! What a difference for my eyes and my back! I am so glad I made the choice and gifted myself!
“The first time I tried a pair of CraftOptics on at the International Quilt Show in Rosemont, IL a few years ago, I realized how much detail I was missing.”
I put my Craft Optics to work right away. I was working on a quilt for a local show and the visual aid and the light were very much appreciated. It did take some time to break old habits, like looking over the telescopes at my work, but I eventually got the hang of it. I have worked with an OptiVisor in both my jewelry and sewing work for over thirty years and had done okay, but the first time I tried a pair of Craft Optics on at the International Quilt Show a few years ago, I realized how much detail I was missing. I have always invested in the best tools I could afford and this is an investment, but so worth it.
“Best investment I ever made. Worth every penny. I couldn’t bead without them.”
“They have made a huge difference in my posture when I work and it has eased up my neck, shoulder, and back strain. Now I never want to do any work without them...”

“That was the best investment I could have made. Thank you for your help with this amazing tool.”
“I am so delighted with the lenses because they are really making a difference to my ability to work at my art. I was getting to the point of wondering if I would have the physical capacity to continue into more longterm projects because of the neck, shoulder, back, and muscle-strain.”
I LOVE THEM!!! Within an hour of first putting them on, my posture was better and various aches and pains began to quickly subside. I simply wouldn’t be without them now. I’m a dedicated beader, so do a lot of encrusted bead stitching and some jewelry-making. I am so delighted with the lenses because they are really making a difference in my ability to work at my art. I was getting to the point of wondering if I would have the physical capacity to continue into more longterm projects because of the neck, shoulder, back, and muscle-strain. This happened at the time when I was really developing skill and confidence in the art pieces I was doing, and the physical strain was beginning to cause me some anticipatory doubt and grief. Because of the nature of beading, it’s slow art, so there’s little to be done but go through the necessary stitching processes. The CraftOptics lenses have so successfully contributed to a better and more sustainable posture that I am hopeful of truly being able to work on a number of major projects. I’ve found that I can also see easily to pick up my beads by elevating them to a suitable level that means I need only move my body forward slightly each time I need to pick up, so they remain in focus and I can easily see the holes for the needle to enter. Otherwise, I do look around the telescope part for other things appropriate to the prescription lenses themselves. I carefully reviewed all the videos before the package even arrived, so was well-prepared to put them on and get to work.
“I wish I hadn't waited so long to get them!”
I must tell you, I even find ripping out stitches in my sewing to be much easier with my CraftOptics and Dream Beam! I can do a bunch of my hobbies more easily now. I wish I hadn't waited so long to get them!
“They really revolutionized the way I work and I can't even believe I ever managed without them!!”
Not only is the product wonderful, but the customer service is excellent and very personal!! I recently sent mine in for a prescription upgrade and had to go back to working without them while waiting for the upgrade. Ugh!!!!! I can't WAIT to get them back.....they really revolutionized the way I work and I can't even believe I ever managed without them!! Follow up: By the way I got them back SO fast, and the service I received was exceptional! Great product, great service, you really can't beat that! “These are by far my greatest beading tool.”
"I've been using them for a couple of years. These are by far my greatest beading tool. Without them I could not create my art at all. I can see the smallest of details whilst I'm beading."
“Huge difference in my soldering success!”
Love my CraftOptics! Huge difference in my soldering success! It's so much easier to make a joint good and tight when you can see it clearly.
“Probably one of the best investments a serious beader can make”
Not only do these magnifying lenses ease eye strain by giving you a better closeup view of your beading, they might also reduce the aches and pains in your neck, back, and arms that come from holding your beadwork in an uncomfortable position! “They make my quilting and beadwork a dream!”
I love CraftOptics because it helps with my eye problems, and the light, along with the telescopes allow me to enjoy my handwork again so it's a win-win. I never realized how much I hadn't been able to see. This is all thanks to your product and I'm grateful.
“I am thrilled beyond belief at how clear and precise my vision is!”
I am thrilled beyond belief at how clear and precise my vision is! After a lifetime of poor vision (I went into glasses at the age of 6) this is thrilling, and making my life much easier. Plus after my recent (and continuing) bout of extreme neck and back pain, it is once more a joy to sit at the bench.
“I can't believe the difference they make in my vision.”
I received my new CraftOptics in the mail yesterday and started using them last night when I was bead weaving. I can't believe the difference they make in my vision. I'm an 80 year old male and I had gotten to where I could only work with the tiny seed beads for a short time before I was experiencing eyestrain. I love the fact that I can look up over the telescopes and be looking through my regular glasses prescription. I'm already sharing this good news with fellow bead weavers. Oh, yes, and I have the light attached and that's great because wherever I'm looking, the light is there!
“I love my CraftOptics and DreamBeam, and wish I bought them sooner.”
I love my CraftOptics and DreamBeam, and wish I bought them sooner. They make all my crafting activities easier since I'm not struggling to see and I have far less stress on my neck. I recently had a problem with my DreamBeam, but Jeff responded to me on a weekend and the problem was resolved 100%. In addition to a wonderful product, they have great customer service. Thank you.
“No idea how I survived without my optics!”
"I thank you for the prompt service, and have no idea how I survived without my optics!!!! I use them for beadweaving, as well as silver jewelry/ metal work. Many thanks and a thumbs up for such an awesome creation! I am making good use of the new carry case too. I look forward to future innovations from your business. Keep up the excellent customer service skills, as they are better than most. I am a truly big fan."
“I still can't believe that I can actually start using the #15 beads and doing fine scale embroidery again.”
"With great excitement I finally received my parcel yesterday. I had read the reviews on the craftoptics telescopes, but assumed that people were a bit over the top with it. I had tried other cheaper magnifiers with no luck, and when I had cataracts done which meant reading glasses, I was really struggling with my craft work. Well!!!! Amazing! Having the whole unit put together for me was a lovely idea, as I was able to start using the glasses straight away with no adjustment at all. And having batteries in the light was also a lovely thoughtful touch. I will take time to grow into them, but I can already see what an amazing difference it will make. My only problem at the moment is that I have trouble stopping my head and shoulders from creeping forward. Old habits die hard! I still can't believe that I can actually start using the #15 beads and doing fine scale embroidery again. Many thanks for your great service." Regards,
“I want to tell everyone that does beading or close work that these have changed my life!”
“I want to tell everyone that does beading or close work that these have changed my life!!! I actually enjoy my beading so much more as I can bead, watch TV and read a pattern if needed. The fact it has a fantastic light means I don’t have to sit at a table but I can relax in my recliner with my beading board and bead much longer than I could before. Also, the CraftOptics team is so nice to work with if you need help with anything. They are an investment in your eye health and when someone asks me about them I tell them don’t buy another bead until you get a pair of these Jewels!!!!”
“If you're unsure about purchasing, don't be.”
If you're unsure about purchasing, don't be. The product is wonderful and the Customer support is the best.
“My latest love affair!”
MY LATEST LOVE AFFAIR! Craftoptics seriously rocks! I had no idea how much I WASN'T seeing when beading or quilt embellishing until I put these babies on! The DreamBeam is a must so you can bead anywhere! I even use it on the plane!!! I've seen the ads around for awhile but thought it was just a pricy new toy...NOT! Truthfully this has changed my beading quality because I can SEE everything! http://kristalwick.com/
“More than the extra mile to ensure that I have a telescope which functions well for me”
Jeff, Kate and Trish have gone far more than the extra mile to ensure that I have a telescope which functions well for me. I bought my telescopes in 2012 but experienced eyestrain when wearing them. About two weeks ago I contacted the office for a way to resolve this. The +1.50 in the set I purchased was evidently too strong along with the telescopes. Kate talked with me first followed by a conversation with Jeff. They sent two sets of telescopes and said to try them both to see what worked best. The +1.25 was still too strong although it did not cause as much eyestrain as the +1.50. The miracle solution is a combination of plain lenses in the glasses part and the telescopes. This combination allows me to work comfortably with 11/0 seed beads and I anticipate being able to also work with 15/0 while wearing my CraftOptics. Thank you to Jeff, Kate and Trish.
“Light and very comfortable. I recommend them to all my fellow beaders. You won't be disappointed.”
They are awesome. I tried several magnifiers without much success. I was going to order the short working distance but Jeff suggested I order the regular distance and they are perfect. They are light and very comfortable. I recommend them to all my fellow beaders. You won't be disappointed. My next purchase will be to add the light.
“I thought I had good ring closures before?”
I thought I had good ring closures before? I'm delighted by how much better they are when I can SEE them in such astonishing detail. I love sharing these with my students to hear their surprised yelps and see their expressions of delight. Pliers are my favorite tools, and these are a perfect complement
“I gotta tell you something, I ADORE my CraftOptics!”
I gotta tell you something, I ADORE my CraftOptics! I've had them for about 9 months now. I also have the beam, though I don't always use it. I am able to work longer and with less strain than ever before. I don't hunch up over my beading table (yes, I am a bead weaver (aka thea fine)) the way I used to. As a result, my posture is better, my core is stronger, and my shoulders don't hurt. AND I truly believe my creative juice has been enhanced! I was able to complete a fairly large (for me) commissioned body of work in comfort and, frankly, I think, more rapidly than otherwise would have been possible!!! And because I travel (but, sadly, not to B&B this year), the new case is absolutely perfect. It fits right into my bag along with my beading projects, keeps beam and glasses together (yeah, I'm one of those people....I lose things!!). Thank you, thank you, thank you, for a magnificent product, for a great travel case and, ABOVE ALL, for the ongoing support and help to ensure that I'm happy, happy, happy with your wonderful product. AND I AM!!!
“Seeing is believing. I absolutely love mine.”
Just shared my CraftOptics in a class at Brea Beadworks and they were a hit! Seeing is believing. I absolutely love mine. I can do detailed beadwork on an airplane at night using the light my hubby got me for the holidays. Everything is bright, crisp and clear. www.lisapavelka.com
“I was wondering how good the light could be. I've purchased so many lights that claim to be really bright and they aren't. This light is perfect--bright enough, and not too yellow or too blue. AND no shadows to work around...I'm in heaven!”

“I use them for everything--beading, soldering, metal clay projects and lots of non-jewelry uses too.”
I bounce between two studios each week and I love the new case! So easy to pack my indispensible CraftOptics. I use them for everything-beading, soldering, metal clay projects and lots of non-jewelry uses too (perfect manicures, anyone?). Thank you for such an amazing tool--and case!
“I'm able to see the tiny details of my designs in a way I haven't been able to in years!”
I'm a huge fan of CraftOptics. I'm able to see the tiny details of my designs in a way I haven't been able to in years. My neck is grateful for the generous focal length that allows me to sit up straight while enjoying the benefits of the magnification. I find the DreamBeam light is an invaluable addition because it illuminates the exact area I need it to in a shadowless way that allows my cataract clouded vision to see things I haven't been able to in recent years. As a jewelry designer and artist I LOVE my CraftOptics with DreamBeam and your customer service is outstanding! See Anita's shop here

I can see the inside of size 15 beads! I've never seen that before!
“Blown away by the combination of optics and comfort”
When we first saw these we were blown away by the combination of optics and comfort.
“I can see my work now without having to hold it 4 inches from my eyes!”
Just got my CraftOptics and can I say how impressed I am!! LOVE them!! I can see my work now without having to hold it 4 inches from my eyes which is what I had to do with my cheap old magnifiers. This is so much better...no more neck and back strain, not to mention the eye strain I had before! They came adjusted perfectly to my eyes, right out of the box, and the only adjustment needed was a slight frame adjustment because of my short temple length. After that quick fix, they sit comfortably, and I feel like I will be able to wear them for hours...so light weight!
“Wish I'd Found You Sooner”
I am so grateful for these wonderful glasses. I've tried other options but always wound up constantly switching between several pair of readers. Wish I'd found you sooner. I'm sure my artwork will benefit immensely now that I can properly see how I'm working without frustration.
“I love using the telescopes! The resolution is so crisp!”
I love using the telescopes! The resolution is so crisp that my soldering success has improved because I can see if the joint fits well before attempting the soldering process. http://www.etsy.com/shop/JeanWilsonStudio

“Now I'll be able to do the things I could do before!”
When your eyes go and you can't see what you want to do, you don't realize how much it changes your life. It kept me from doing things. Now I'll be able to do the things I could do before! How can you put a price on that?
“THE CLARITY WITH WHICH I CAN SEE MAKES THE BEADWORK SO MUCH EASIER!”
I can bead for much longer stretches of time without getting that tired feeling that I would attribute to being tired and not to having weary eyes. The clarity with which I can see makes the beadwork so much easier, I can focus on fine detail and craftsmanship with each stitch having optimum tension and each bead being optimally positioned because I can see them so much better. http://www.marciadecoster.com
“I cannot even express how much I love this product”
I cannot even express how much I love this product. They are so helpful and my eyes don't feel the terrible strain of focusing on my baby beads for hours and hours. And the light is AWESOME! Having the spotlight right on my beadwork is so helpful.
“I'm not surprised at all that quilters love your glasses”
I find them extremely helpful not only for stitching bead embroidered jewelry -- my main thing -- and also for adding beads and other embellishments to my quilts. I'm not surprised at all that quilters love your glasses.
“They really, REALLY have changed the way I work”
They really, REALLY have changed the way I work. My eyesight is okay, but as you know that sharpness can fade away with time and since it is so gradual I didn't really notice it. Now BAM!!! I can see to wirewrap, solder and string. I got used to them right away and now I always have them in my handbag.
“My most important tool is my CraftOptics. These have saved not only my eyes, but my shoulders and back, which had been in pain from years of hunching over.”
My most important tool is my CraftOptics. These have saved not only my eyes, but my shoulders and back, which had been in pain from years of hunching over. Before these life-savers, I found myself beading less and less because I was so physically uncomfortable, and I didn't even know why. These are lightweight, permanently attached to prescription glasses that come with them, and I can flip the binocular part of them up or down in a second. I can now hold my beadwork up to 16" away from me, sit up straight, and see fantastic detail. I don't do any beadwork without these. www.margiedeeb.com
“...I have also done beading and Hardanger embroidery and temporarily had to give those up because of eye strain and the beginning of cataracts. Thank you for opening up those crafts to me again. I missed doing them.”
I got my Wow package today and I can see to thread a number 11 milliner’s needle for the first time in ages! I do a variety of crafts with English paper piecing being the most recent addition to my crafting history. I have also done beading and Hardanger embroidery and temporarily had to give those up because of eye strain and the beginning of cataracts. Thank you for opening up those crafts to me again. I missed doing them. I have progressive lenses in my daily wear glasses and I struggled to find lighting and magnifying solutions for those. I saw the CraftOptics a year ago at a quilt show and decided to make the decision to purchase them this year. I’m really glad I did!
“When I looked at the canvas using my new CraftOptics glasses, I was horrified at all the stitches I had done incorrectly just because I couldn’t see.”
I took a needlepoint class on an 18-mesh canvas the week before my CraftOptics glasses arrived. The instructor demonstrated several of the more complicated stitches, and we worked a bit on our canvas using the stitches so we would have something to look at when we got home after class. When I looked at the canvas using my new CraftOptics glasses, I was horrified at all the stitches I had done incorrectly just because I couldn’t see. I was even wearing a fairly new pair of glasses with a new prescription. I had to rip out what I had done in class and redo it. Now I never do any needlepoint without my CraftOptics glasses. As someone else told me, they are a game changer. LM
“I’m very pleased with this new Rx and it’s a great relief and joy to have these CraftOptics. I really appreciated the 45-day money-back guarantee if I was not pleased with my purchase. It made ordering a no-brainer!”
Dear Lynn, I can happily say you can close out this ticket! I’m very pleased with this new Rx and it’s a great relief and joy to have these Craftoptics. I’m very impressed with you and the company policies. This was a big purchase and it was a bit nerve-wracking in the beginning, not knowing your company. I really appreciated the 45-day money-back guarantee if I was not pleased with my purchase. It made ordering a no-brainer! It’s been a pleasure working with you! Thank you for your patience in getting my prescription adjusted not once, but twice. I’m looking forward to using my CO’s for both machine and handwork, and to being able to do more now with no strain. I had been coveting CraftOptics for a number of years, but I don't remember seeing that [45 day money back] guarantee or I would have ordered sooner. Given the excellence of the product and the customer service I received, it seems your company can't go wrong to continue to offer that. R. Kelley
“I would recommend them to anyone who sews or does crafts or close up work. I wish I had purchased them sooner.”
“My CraftOptics have liberated my needlepointing abilities to an entirely new and lofty level...I am now free to needlepoint anywhere I wish...I am thrilled that I made the decision to acquire a pair.”
“I've finally found my dream system.”
“For the first time ever I could see my work without having it up to my nose to see it.”
There are not enough emoji hearts to express how much I love, love, love my new CraftOptics!!! When I tried them on they worked out perfectly :-) For the first time ever I could see my work without having it up to my nose to see it. Truly amazing! What a wonderful product you bring to people with poor vision like mine. Thank you so much for taking such good care of me throughout this whole process - I appreciate it more than you can know!
“Fantastic magnifiers for fine needlework, jewelry making, or other hobbies that benefit from excellent magnification.”
“You will NOT be disappointed...you will just wish you had ordered sooner.”
“These optics were exactly what I wanted. The frames are lightweight but sturdy, the magnification is where it should be, the light brilliantly illuminates my project, and the rechargeable battery makes them portable.”
“I now have the freedom to follow my pattern without changing glasses”
I absolutely love my glasses. I now have the freedom to follow my pattern without changing glasses, I can needlepoint and watch TV with my husband and I have freedom of movement. I no longer have to move a light and magnifier if I need to move to another part of the room.
“It's like being reborn with eyes that can see a flea on a gnat.”
“It was my best investment for continuing to do needlework. I highly recommend them.”
“The product is exactly as described and promised. I have found it to be a wonderful and indispensable addition to the creative side of my life.”
“The WOW Package, with glasses and light, have expanded my ability to do handwork.”
“This is a total game changer! You can see everything!”
“The quality of my work and the detail I can create have jumped 10 levels with CraftOptics.”
“I thank you, my eyes thank you, my delicate work thanks you.”
Via email: Just letting you all know that I am very happy with the CraftOptics eyeglass/magnifier set I got from you. The prescription is precise and the magnifier works so well for close work. Just finished some very fine mending work and it was easy to do. Thank you so much for your excellent product. I thank you, my eyes thank you, my delicate work thanks you, Daphne M.
“I could just kick myself for waiting so long to purchase mine.”
“I love these glasses!!!! I don't know how I ever did the detail work that I do before I got them.”
“I do a lot of hand embroidery and I'll never be without a magnifier and light again - these are so portable.”
“I absolutely love my CraftOptics glasses. They have enabled me to enjoy needlework again!”
“I am absolutely thrilled with my new CraftOptics glasses. They have made a HUGE difference when working on my needlework.”
“They were really easy to get used to and make close embroidery work much more fun!”
“I honestly didn't realize what a difference CraftOptics was in my needlepoint...I found myself less tired, I did not realize that I had been stitching or 4 hours straight.”
“I am thrilled with my CraftOptics. I have macular degeneration and didn't know if they would help me. They are fantastic.”
“Bring on the tiny stitches, and maybe I'll even try my hand at adding some beads to my embroidery now!”
“The best money I ever spent! You will not regret this purchase!!”
“I can do needlepoint and jewelry projects that I haven't been able to do in YEARS.”
“I highly recommend these glasses and wish I had ordered them the first time I saw them...”
“I'm working on projects now that I haven't been able to do for years. Thank you!!”
“I am so pleased with these glasses! They truly are as advertised and have made embroidery enjoyable for me again as I can actually see what I am doing.”
“My biggest regret is not getting CraftOptics glasses sooner.”
“Love their portability, the lighting option, and the excellent magnification they provide. And their customer service is superb!”
“With these glasses, I can sit up straight and see the details. In addition, the light really highlights the area I need to see. One of the best purchases I've made for my craft.”
“The light is truly the icing on the cake and I couldn't do without it.”
“I was hesitant to purchase these glasses due to cost. After receiving my glasses I can honestly say they are worth every penny.”
“I cannot express how much I love your product and the service that I have received! The glasses allow me to see my work better, and give me the ability to do the best work I can. I am not a professional, however I strive to do the best I can.”
“I can justify all the cost of all of my quilting tools, machines, fabric, everything that goes with it – I can also justify the cost of CraftOptics that enable me to continue doing what I love to be doing.”
“Thanks to your amazing glasses I am able to continue my cross stitching.”
Thanks to your amazing glasses I am able to continue my cross stitching. The pics below show my latest piece called Death By Cross Stitch. It was stitched on 28 count black Evenweave with Silks4U silk thread, 1 over 2, plus some gold metallic thread for accent. The piece took 14 months to complete. Cheers Lesley
“The light makes a HUGE difference in seeing my work so much better!”
"I use them nearly every day to do either cross stitch or jewelry fabrication. While the magnification is great, the light makes a HUGE difference in seeing my work so much better!"
“My favorite stitching tool hands down are my CraftOptics glasses. My prescription combined with magnification and light - pure stitching perfection!!”

"Day 30 - my favorite stitching tool hands down are my #craftoptics glasses. My prescription combined with magnification ? and light?pure stitching perfection!! Now I can see, so I can make all the things! Especially if I want to stitch over one ? " #commonthreadedstitcher“To me the DreamBeam is essential--light just where you need it.”
Just want to say how much I use my CraftOptics for sewing, quilting, doing my nails, and now grafting sweaters together. To me the DreamBeam is essential--light just where you need it. I have needed to update my prescription for over 2 years, but could not give them up long enough. I'm between projects right now, so please continue to do your thing so I can do mine. Thank you sooo much for a great product.
“I am THRILLED with how I can see with these!”
I am THRILLED with how I can see with these. The glasses part have my own prescription in them, bifocals and all. And once I plop the telescopes down on top of the lenses and turn on the light – WOW! I'm loving mine!
www.quiltville.com http://quiltville.blogspot.com“I never Quilt without my wearing my CraftOptics! I feel like I am working in the dark without them.”
I had really been struggling with the detail work in my quilting. My solution was adding more light but that only helped so much. I had seen the advertisements for CraftOptics but the first time I had the opportunity to try them on was in 2015 at AQS Paducah and suddenly details were clear! I do lots of tiny detail stitching on my quilts and I can do that so easily with my CraftOptics. I feel that they definitely helped to up my quilting game. I immediately purchased a pair after the demo. I knew these glasses would give me another tool to advance with my art quilts by providing me with so much vision clarity. These glasses have allowed me so much more enjoyment and less stress on my eyesight. No more struggling to see those all-important details. I am constantly moving around during my piecing process but mostly during my quilting. I do lots of stitching on my art quilts and I change threads very often. My CraftOptics allow me to see all of the different colors and stitches with total clarity. No more tired eyes or eye strain with my CraftOptics. Also, no aching back from bending over trying to see details of my work. Read an interview with Judy in our blog here: JUDYBESKOW
“I recently got my DreamBeam 3 - rechargeable. I am SO pleased. I used them at my guild show over the weekend as I was demonstrating quilt embellishment.”
I recently got my DreamBeam 3 - rechargeable. I am SO pleased. I used them at my guild show over the weekend as I was demonstrating quilt embellishment. As I got to talking, my light would automatically turn off to save its charge - nice feature! I also had the opportunity to share my story with many quilters. I've had my CraftOptics for several years and always praise them.
“I absolutely love my new CraftOptics. They have completely changed my ability to do my detail crafting.”
I absolutely love my CraftOptics. They have completely changed my ability to do my detail crafting. I love hand embroidery and lately, diamond painting. Both of these activities are much easier with my new CraftOptics. I am very happy with my purchase.
“I love them. I should have bought them years ago. My neck and back don’t hurt after stitching.”
“They have made a huge difference in my posture when I work and it has eased up my neck, shoulder, and back strain. Now I never want to do any work without them...”
“I told my friend that my applique days were over. Now I just LOVE to do handwork again”
"I absolutely love my telescopes! Just 2 days before the Road to California (where I purchased them), I told my friend that my applique days were over. Now I just LOVE to do handwork again, and I can see what I’m doing! They arrived in 10 days as advertised. I’m going to show them to my quilting bee this afternoon."
“I am no longer struggling to see, my quilting has improved, and the light is always in the right place.”
Over the past few years, I have experienced an increased need for more light for quilting. A lamp helped for a while, but eventually it was not bright enough, and often was not in the right position, leaving shadows on my work. I did not realize how bad it was until I met Jeff from CraftOptics. The CraftOptics glasses with DreamBeam have changed everything! I cannot believe the difference. I am no longer struggling to see, my quilting has improved, and the light is always in the right place. There is one drawback, LOL. I now can see every imperfection that won’t matter to most people: seams that don’t match exactly, tiny threads poking out of seams, imperfect spacing of quilt stitches, etc. Thanks, Jeff! “No more neck pain from hunching or missing stitches due to lack of magnification!”
I absolutely love them. They make a huge difference on the project I am working on. The canvas is very small and I was making a lot of mistakes prior to getting the glasses!
“Fabulous!!! I can't believe the difference.”
"OMG - I got my CraftOptics as a gift to myself right before Christmas. I'm using them for the first time today stitching the binding on a quilt. Fabulous!!! I can't believe the difference. Now I'm searching for handwork to do! Thank you, Bonnie Hunter! Best advice ever! And thank you, CraftOptics!"
“Best thing I ever got for my birthday!”
"Best thing I ever got for my birthday. I have had these for 3 years now, and they indeed do away with nasty eye fatigue, plus I no longer sit 3 inches from my work."
“I wish I hadn't waited so long to get them!”
I must tell you, I even find ripping out stitches in my sewing to be much easier with my CraftOptics and Dream Beam! I can do a bunch of my hobbies more easily now. I wish I hadn't waited so long to get them!
“My CraftOptics glasses were a lifesaver for me. I'd go nuts without my handicrafts.”
I have a pair of these! I have very severe astigmatism and Macular Degeneration. CraftOptics worked with my optometrist to get me something that would let me continue knitting, doing embroidery and making lino-prints without stabbing or cutting myself. I love them so much. My CraftOptics glasses were a lifesaver for me. I'd go nuts without my handicrafts.
“My CraftOptics glasses are totally indispensable to me and a very treasured tool for the intricate cross-stitch art pieces I do.”
"My CraftOptics glasses are totally indispensable to me and a very treasured tool for the intricate cross-stitch art pieces I do. Thanks for the great service."
“Love this product. Couldn't be happier!”
"I am attaching a picture of me using my CraftOptics glasses. Saying that I LOVE them doesn’t cover it but I do. I have used them to rip things out but decided not to take a picture of that so, instead, I am sending you one of me sewing on a baby quilt. Love this product - couldn’t be happier."
“Bought mine in Paducah and just finished using them while quilting my Hoffman Challenge quilt that is a finalist!!”
"Love my new CraftOptics! They are awesome and let me do really detailed work! Bought mine in Paducah and just finished using them while quilting my Hoffman Challenge quilt that is a finalist!!"
“What a difference they make. They are comfortable, fit perfectly, not too heavy and I can see the smallest details sitting in a better upright position.”
I just received my Rx CraftOptics telescopes with the light. I was working on a quilt, so I immediately put them on to try them. Without any adjustments at all, I sat for and hour and a half using them to finish a piece of applique. What a difference they make. They are comfortable, fit perfectly, not too heavy and I can see the smallest details sitting in a better upright position. I am so pleased. They are everything I expected and more.
“I probably tried almost every magnifier/light combination available. Not one worked well until I came across CraftOptics.”
"In my quest for better close-up vision for my hand embroidery projects, I probably tried almost every magnifier/light combination available. Not one worked well until I came across the Craftoptics Telescopes at a quilting show and I decided to try them. They have turned out to be an invaluable tool for me. Not only am I able to see the detail of the stitches on my hand embroidery and sewing (making the stitching more precise), I have also found a myriad of other uses for them. Whenever I have the need to look at something in detail (such as very small print), I grab my telescopes and put them on. I always have a clear, detailed view and enough light!"
“I'd like to introduce you to a tool that can change the way you look at your embroidery”
I’m always excited to share products that I think can improve the embroiderer’s life, especially when the improvement has to do with seeing our needlework better. I’d like to introduce you to a tool – a tool that can change the way you look at your embroidery. And I mean that literally! Craftoptics are an incredible tool for people who do detail work – any kind of detail work – but they are especially wonderful for those of us who have vision problems and need to use magnification when doing embroidery. See the full article here
“There's just no comparison”
I want to apologize for taking so long to write you a note. I received my glasses from you several months ago and could NOT be happier with them. What a difference they've made in my life. I spend several hours daily oil painting, embroidering, and sewing. I use them for all three, but especially the embroidery. There's just no comparison in using my regular glasses and a table side lamp, and using these with the light connected to the glasses. Thank you so much!
“The quality of my work has already improved by leaps and bounds because I CAN SEE!”
BOY WHAT A DIFFERENCE they make for me. I am about to be 51 and have had to wear glasses for reading for about 8 years. While I could see the hand work I was doing...I really couldn't see the details...and I found myself squinting a lot to try to "see better". This product is amazing....I can see such fine detail on the projects that I'm working on, and I realized this afternoon that I'm not squinting any more! My eyes don't feel tired and my head doesn't hurt! Best of all...I feel that the quality of my work has already improved by leaps and bounds because I CAN SEE!!! They are GREAT!
Thank you.
“I can see perfectly at the age of 64 for the first time in my life.”
I still can't put on my glasses without giggling and then tearing up! I can see perfectly at the age of 64 for the first time in my life. I am so extremely thankful for your gift of site. The tears are falling on my cheeks even writing this. I absolutely love my red CraftOptics!!!
Many thanks for your great service." Regards,
“Before I purchased Craftoptics, I had to quit knitting or quilting when my eyes got tired”
I love my glasses! Before I purchased Craftoptics, I had to quit knitting or quilting when my eyes got tired or if the work was too small. Now when that happens, I grab for my glasses, and I am able to work as long as I wish. They are especially helpful in the car when I am a passenger and want to work on my piece of knitting. And when the lighting is not too bright, they are especially helpful. I highly recommend Craftoptics to anyone who does close work. Thank you!
“They were my favorite tool purchase of all time!”
I am an avid Quilter and do a great deal of needle-turn appliqué. While I believe myself to be a young 55, I can't begin to share how much my eyesight and therefore my stitch quality has improved with the use of my CraftOptics! They were my favorite tool purchase of all time! Thanks so much for bringing this tool to the masses! So very glad I stopped by your booth at the Grand Rapids show in 2015!
“I am stitching tiny, almost invisible hand stitches - like I did when I was 25.”
After getting my CraftOptics scopes, I am stitching tiny, almost invisible hand stitches - like I did when I was 25. Best thing I have ever done for myself and my self esteem. Just had my prescription updated (only $85) and these folks were quick and accurate. I had my scopes back in 10 days!
“CraftOptics are absolutely the best sewing purchase I have ever made!”
I saw your glasses presented at the quilt show at Oaks, PA. I made a special trip back to the show to purchase them. Although they are not inexpensive, they are by far well worth the investment! CraftOptics are absolutely the best sewing purchase I have ever made. They are an investment in my work, and my eyes! Thanks for the help in purchasing the perfect pair.
“Without these glasses and the light, I was struggling with tasks required for my job”
I am a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner and use them for placing umbilical lines in premature infants. As I have gotten older, I was having trouble putting in umbilical lines (a special IV catheter in the vein & arteries) and intubations (placing a breathing tube in the trachea) on premature infants. I am also a quilter. I found out about the lens from my dental hygienist and the next month just happened to go to a quilt show in Hampton, VA and you had a booth there. I tried them out and they are wonderful! Without these glasses and the light, I was struggling with tasks required for my job. The light is a must for anyone who purchases these also!
“It's so nice to be comfortable and needlepoint without pain”
I no longer have shoulder pain from holding the canvas up close to see the details and my ability to see the details is amazing. I can keep my threads equal and straight and I am able to see problems quickly and take care of them right away. It's so nice to be comfortable and needlepoint without pain. Thank You for such a great product. I love them.
“Instead of switching among three sets of readers, when I can find them, I now wear this one pair”
Please tell Jeff thanks for his call and for re-making my Rx. The new telescopes are perfect. Instead of switching among three sets of "readers," when I can find them, I now wear this one pair, comfortably, all day in my studio.
“I received my order yesterday and I am pleased beyond words”
I received my order yesterday and I am pleased beyond words. These glasses are astonishing. Just trying them at the show did not prepare me for these amazing glasses. I want you to know what a great asset Kate and her partnerwere at the Cincinnati show. They were very friendly, quite knowledgeable about the product and made sure that buyers' questions and concerns were clearly understood. I just am without words at the marvelous product you have
“Thanks for a great product which I will use for needlepoint & painting needlepoint canvas.”
Just received my telescopes today. I had absolutely no issues getting used to them. Was surprised at how light they are and the glasses themselves are very comfortable. They even look quite stylish (I ordered red)! I already know I'll be ordering the light at some point. Before I ordered them, I did go to my optometrist to get the precise information requested on the form. That's probably part of the reason they fit so well with no issues with the magnification, etc. Thanks for a great product which I will use for needlepoint and painting needlepoint canvas.
“Talk about incredible, I am so happy with my CraftOptics!!! I am [now] able to see what I am stitching.”
Talk about incredible, I am so happy with my CraftOptics!!! I am [now] able to see what I am stitching. This is so important as a long arm quilter. Everything is in front of me without bending over to see what I am doing. It has lessened my back discomfort and eye strain. Thank you so much for the incredible customer service.
“When I finished I realized my shoulder and neck were not screaming at me!”
I must tell you that I love my glasses!! I just finished a dresden plate quilt that I did stitching in each fan and usually I'd be in sooo much pain in my neck and shoulders I could only hope t get this done!!! When I finished I realized my shoulder and neck were not screaming at me!!! Thank you so much.
“Before the telescopes, I wore two pairs of glasses...”
Before I wore these telescopes I would wear two pairs of glasses to do this work, one stacked on top of the other, to get the magnification I needed.
“You've made this quilt-aholic woman very happy!”
I received my glasses and DreamBeam today and I've barely moved from my sewing machine since they arrived. I can't believe how much I was missing! Although I had a problem with the light, I called your company and was more than pleased by the responsiveness of your staff. Thank you for producing such a high-quality product. You've made this quilt-aholic woman very happy!
“Ripping hems is not one of my favorite things to do, but your glassicals made it easy!”
Just a note to let you know I received my glasses today. Thank you for a wonderful Birthday Present! I've already used them for a sewing problem I was having (ripping hems out is not one of my favorite things to do, but your glassicals made it easy!) Thank you so much.
“I can now stitch in comfort instead of bending over my work and making my back and neck ache.”
I am pleased to tell you that I have received my CraftOptics. I am very pleased with them. I can now stitch in comfort instead of bending over my work and making my back and neck ache. I know they will make a difference to my hobby from now on. The dream beam gives incredible light. I do not know how I have managed with my daylight bulb for so long as the dream beam light is so much brighter. Thank you so much for a fabulous product. and to Jeff for helping me fill out the application form.
“...made the whole project a lot easier”
I was just using the optics yesterday while working on a chainmaille project and the difference was really noticeable! The seams in the jump rings were much easier to see, which made the whole project a lot easier.
“I can now see mistakes I hadn't seen before”
The telescopes are working out great! The only downside is I can now see mistakes I've made in my craft projects that I hadn't noticed before. The only thing I can think of for how to improve them would be to make them so small they could be implanted directly into the eyeballs. Craftoptics bionic eyes, how cool!
“I can use the telescopes to view my work, and still watch TV and interact with my family at the same time.”
I have officially become middle-aged. I can still see to read just fine, but suddenly my arms just weren't the right length where my stitching was concerned. My prescription is very strong as it is - now my up-close vision is iffy. What's a serious stitcher to do? In an effort to avoid going to using only 6-count Aida for my projects, I have tried all sorts of magnifiers. I am too fidgety for the ones that fit around the neck, but if I get in the zone, I can make them work. Free-standing magnifiers tend to give me motion-sickness, so while they offer a great view of my stitching, I can't use them long term. I managed to make clip-on lenses work pretty well, but was frustrated with the fact that I had to hold my work at a single fixed point to see it. Since I had so many problems with traditional methods, I leapt at the chance to test some CraftOptics telescopes recently. These magnifiers are unique in that they are attached to glasses fitted with lenses in my current prescription. So far, I feel as if all my problems have been solved! The glasses are super comfy and rather geeky chic. I can use the telescopes to view my work, and still watch TV and interact with my family at the same time - I swear I can't hear if I don't have my glasses on! There's no problem with motion sickness, and when I flip up the telescopes, they stay put. And, there's quite a range where I can see my project, so I don't have to hold it in just one place. There are lots more features I am still discovering and I will offer a more formal review of this product as soon as I have a chance to test it out more. Granted, the price means that this option is not an inexpensive one. But for hard-core stitchers who have "bad eyes" like me, it is a very practical one. If stitching is a major part of your life, as it is mine, they might just be worth it! As I said, I will be offering a more formal review soon, so stay tuned, but I wanted to let you know that such options were out there, in case you are having problems like mine. (I have no connection with the company other than the fact that they sent me a pair of their CraftOptics Telescopes to test.) The glasses are available in red (show here) and black (like the one's I am testing). You may visit the CraftOptics website, fan them on Facebook, and/or follow @CraftOptics on Twitter to learn more.
“Before I had my CraftOptics it was such a struggle to get everything in the right place—I had to do a lot of adjusting. But now I just put on my glasses and things are perfectly aligned, right off the bat.”
One thing I really like about my CraftOptics is that you get the combination of regular vision and magnification. When I’m in the middle of soldering something, I can look up and use my normal vision to reach out and pick tiny components out of a jar. And then I can look down and use the magnification to solder them on a circuit board. It’s the perfect arrangement. I’m not sure I’d be able to do the surface mount soldering that’s such a big part of my work without them. I need to solder 30 pieces of circuitry onto a board that’s 1” x ½” big and then I put 12 of those boards on a larger board. I have to get all the boards in place, just so with a vice, and solder them into place. Before I had my CraftOptics it was such a struggle to get everything in the right place—I had to do a lot of adjusting. But now I just put on my glasses and things are perfectly aligned, right off the bat. It’s amazing what you can do with these glasses. And, of course, I have the DreamBeam light. I understand the importance of good light!
“My CraftOptics glasses alleviate back pain from hunching and help combat vision challenges with its built in light feature.”
A question I get a lot is, "how do you paint tiny details on your miniatures?!" Before trying CraftOptics, I struggled to balance magnifying tools on my desk in front of my working hands. My CraftOptics glasses alleviate back pain from hunching and help combat vision challenges with its built in light feature.
“Thanks to CraftOptics, I can see again. I can enjoy my work. To be honest, I didn’t even realize how bad things had gotten until I had the CraftOptics.”
One of the best things is being able to do my work without being in pain. In the past, I’d be all hunched over trying to see and then I’d have back pain and pain in my face—it was like having pressure all around. I’d be in the midst of doing this thing that I loved, that was so engaging and all-encompassing, and then I’d start to realize I was in pain. I just wanted to be able to light a scented candle, put on some nice soft music and relax and paint, enjoy the process, but I couldn’t. Thanks to CraftOptics, I can see again. I can enjoy my work. To be honest, I didn’t even realize how bad things had gotten until I had the CraftOptics. I just kind of lived with the pain to do what I loved and didn’t know there was a solution.
“I can SEE and sculpt without hunching over my work.”
I wanted to let you know how happy I am with the glasses!! I can see perfectly sitting at my table to sculpt and see my tools and laptop! I’ve been dealing with a neck injury and I really think these glasses will help me get into a better posture so I can SEE and sculpt without hunching over my work. I can’t thank you and CraftOptics enough. Kind of EXCITED! :) My friend referred me to your website, and I’m SO happy she did.
“These optics were exactly what I wanted. The frames are lightweight but sturdy, the magnification is where it should be, the light brilliantly illuminates my project, and the rechargeable battery makes them portable.”
“I really thought that my eyes just weren’t up to the detail work I used to do, or maybe my hands had just lost a crucial “coordination edge.” With the CraftOptics, I can do just as well as I did 10 years ago. It’s been a terrific boost to my work in the hobby.”
CRAFTOPTICS: A WHOLE NEW WAY TO SEE YOUR MINIATURES by Mary B. Last April I purchased a pair of CraftOptics at the Chicago International show (aka Tom Bishop show.) They really are amazing! Before my CraftOptics, I felt I couldn’t control the brush well enough to attempt some details in painting minis that now I can do fairly easily. And working with adhesives is definitely easier now. What are CraftOptics? Glad you asked! Here’s a picture from their website https://craftoptics.com/ As you can see from the photo, CraftOptics include a pair of glasses (made to your prescription), a pair of high resolution magnifying telescopes, and a battery-powered light. They also come with a case to store them safely. Now when I work on my minis I don’t hunch over the work, or keep trying to adjust the distance between my eyes and the minis. This is true whether I am painting, doing needlework, sculpting with polymer clay or just cutting or gluing. I’ve even found that it helps me cut more accurately when using a miter box. If you visit their website you will see that many hobbyists and those in a number of professions are using this product to help them see better when doing their work. They are expensive so I felt better about the purchase because of their 45-day money back guarantee, as well as warranties on the various components. The website has a lot of information – including a video and photo gallery – as well as ways to contact the company for more information. Before I tried them at the show, I really thought that my eyes just weren’t up to the detail work I used to do, or maybe my hands had just lost a crucial “coordination edge.” With the CraftOptics, I can do just as well as I did 10 years ago. It’s been a terrific boost to my work in the hobby. I’ll bring them along to the February meeting. These are just too good not to share with my fellow miniaturists!
“These glasses have changed my life! You don't know how happy you have made me! Do you make regular glasses?”
These glasses have changed my life! You don't know how happy you have made me! Do you make regular glasses?
“I was never able to pick solder before...now I can and I realize it was because I couldn't see the little balls of solder!”

“This is the best purchase I have made in a while. I was always curious about them...I can see very, very clearly and I have found I have less neck pain because I'm not bending over as much.”
“Gone are the annoying shadows that used to irritate me when trying to get adequate light on small or recessed parts.”
I have used it to inspect the gears on a mechanical clock and to read a very faint imprint that had been made in a piece of wood. It works great! I can see myself using this quite a bit in my hobbies, and for some repair projects involving small parts. I am sooo glad that I purchased the light as well. Gone are the annoying shadows that used to irritate me when trying to get adequate light on small or recessed parts. My hands no longer interfere with my lighting.
“There is really nothing better for looking at the details of mountings of works of art on paper.”
2016 Update: "You spoke to my wife at the quilting expo last weekend. It reminded me to let you know how much I value your telescopes. I’m not sure how long I’ve had them: a decade? longer? I use them regularly, because there is really nothing better for looking at the details of mountings of works of art on paper. They let me see into narrow spaces clearly—a crucial first step in deciding whether a mounting needs to be replaced—and decide how to go about replacing it."
“CraftOptics allows me to work in a more natural position. I used to use a visor, but that required that I get really close to see.”
I used to use a visor, but that required that I get really really close to see. And that would mean that I'm breathing all over the art and sometimes it means I have to be all hunched over and still not really able to see deep underneath the art. Using the CraftOptics Telescopes allows me to work in a more natural position and I can see a much larger area.
“This system is so wonderful! You really should get a bigger presence in the fly tying community!”
“This system is so wonderful! You really should get a bigger presence in the fly tying community! For me CraftOptics has been a complete paradigm shift! Here are the CraftOptics benefits to fly tyers:
- Good posture while working up close- this is accomplished by a combination of having Rx in the lens, bifocal, and telescopes.
- A large bright field of magnification- most tyers (at least those with presbyopia) use an add on magnifying glass, a bifocal with a add power or an Optivisor head band (which is what I was using before CraftOptics). These are inferior solutions, in my opinion/experience.
- The light- the DreamBeam solves a lot of lighting problems. You will hear tyers talk about being under the lamp. All these lamps produce shadows and are underpowered in my opinion. The dream beam creates copious amounts of light focused where you need it and with good color reproducibility.
“I can now clearly, easily and comfortably see the smallest hooks I tie on.”
“It's awesome- I tied some this morning and am amazed by how well I see.”
I'm enjoying seeing what I'm tying so much better! It's awesome- I tied some this morning and am amazed by how well I see.
“I simply could not have done these things well, if at all, without my CraftOptics including the light option.”
I purchased my CraftOptics with light during the Pacific International Quilt Show at Santa Clara, CA in 2019. Not certain at the time what all I would use it on, I knew that it would be helpful for many applications. Well, my usage has exceeded my expectations. I used it to repair an old mechanical clock, soldered very fine wiring - twice, found faint inspection and acceptance marks on antiques, oiled my wife's sewing machine and also repaired a 1919 mechanical adding machine that needed a lot of work. It will soon be used to in repairing and oiling my old American Flyer toy trains as well. I simply could not have done these things well, if at all, without my CraftOptics including the light option. The potential uses are endless, and this has been an excellent investment in my hobby of repairing and maintaining various mechanical objects that my wife and I use. Regarding the light option, I have to say that gone are the annoying shadows that used to irritate me when trying to get adequate light on small or recessed parts. What an improvement over the use of multiple lights to try to eliminate shadows, often unsuccessfully. I do recommend CraftOptics.
“My eyes now see the close-up component work as well as the above bench level test equipment displays.”
I have been enjoying my CraftOptics glasses with the now correct-for-me prescription. My eyes now see the close-up component work as well as the above bench level test equipment displays. WooHoo! I certainly appreciate how you stand behind your product. I appreciate the quick turn-around time on these, too!
“I now can get the magnification I need and can be sitting much straighter.”
I have been using CraftOptics for over two years. Two occupational hazards of wood engravers are neck and back issues as we are often hunched over our blocks, using various magnifying devices. I now can get the magnification I need and can be sitting much straighter. CraftOptics travel well too, great magnification in a compact package.
“With the DreamBeam, you’ve got the light aimed right at where you’re making your cuts. You don’t have to squint and you can be confident you’re carving right where you want to.”
The DreamBeam light is definitely my number one feature. The magnification is important—it’s wonderful to be able to see a specific area up close. But when you’re doing woodcarving, you need a good light, and overhead lighting alone won’t do. With the DreamBeam, you’ve got the light aimed right at where you’re making your cuts. You don’t have to squint and you can be confident you’re carving right where you want to.

“I was using them while detail painting around grills and air-intake screens on a locomotive, and they made a big difference. I notice that I don't have as much neck and eye strain when wearing the CraftOptics.”
“I use them to solder resistors and capacitors every day”
I just wanted to tell you that I am a satisfied customer of your telescopes. I use them here to solder resistors and capacitors every day that are 1.68mm x .89mm and with the telescopes they are large enough to see the solder connections that I make. So thank you for having a fine product.
“I am thrilled with my CraftOptics. I have macular degeneration and didn't know if they would help me. They are fantastic.”
“She has macular degeneration and was worried she would have to give up quilting. The glasses have made such a difference, not only in her quilting but in reading. She’s read every night since she got them. Thank you!”
“Ideal for lots of detail work that you can't have your face close to.”
These are ideal for eyelid laceration repairs - lots of detail work that you can't have your face close to (because it's usually done with standing sedation). The light is key.

“The telescopes have been great for my neck and spine”
The telescopes have been great for my neck and spine. I have arthritis that affects my back and it's been a real challenge to work for long periods of time, but now I can do everything and it's much more comfortable.
